In the divine presence of Satguru Sharavana Babaji, 41 Hrithwiks (Deekshithars) from Mahadeva Temple, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu conducts RUDRA MAHAYAGAM on 2010 December on 26th, 27th and 28th at Sharavana Bhava Madom, Sreekrishnapuram
In line with the divine sankalpa of Satguru Sharavana Babaji, Rudra Mahayagam is being conducted at Sharavana Bhava Madom, Sreekrishnapuram, Kerala on 26th, 27th and 28th December 2010, in the divine presence of Babaji, who has just returned after a successful visit to UK. The Yagam is conducted by 41 Vedic scholars from the Deekshithar order of the famous Chidambaram Mahadeva Temple, led by Siromani Subrahmanya Deekshithar and Sree T. B. Tyagaraja Deekshithar. The highlight of the function is that this is the first time in the history of Palakkad District that a Rudra Mahayagam is being conducted.
According to Babaji, such Yagas and Yajnas are intended to purify the atmosphere. In the mad race for material acquisition, human race is inflicting infinite damage to Mother Nature. It is seen that though there is considerable progress in the economical status and material comforts of most humans, there is a corresponding decrease in mental peace and harmony. The invisible but unbreakable link between the intrinsic nature of man and the external nature is the causative factor for this unenviable situation. How much the external nature is being polluted there is a corresponding increase in the mental impurity in man. This increase in mental impurity decreases the rational thinking ability and sanity in man and he further bombards the Nature in his pursuit of pleasure, there by contaminating his mind further. Trapped in this vicious cycle, man becomes a hapless victim of his own doing. The basic reason for most conflicts on this Earth is this self inflicted turbulence and chaos.
Babaji clarifies that Yajnas like Rudra Mahayagam cleanses the air and atmosphere around and this causes inner purification of those participating in it, at the subconscious level. It is interesting to note this statement is now endorsed by the latest studies in Parapsychology. It is to be noted that many latest findings in such varied scientific fields such as Astrophysics, Particle physics and Nanotechnology underlines the divinity and practicality of Indian cultural heritage.
From time immemorial , India is known for its cultural diversity. Ideologically speaking, from the lowly placed Yagas for personal desire like Puthrakameshti, through the apparently barbaric Yagas like Ashwameda to divinely inspired Yagas for peace and prosperity for all like Biswajith, Athirudra and Chandika……… thousands of such Yagas were performed in this divine land from time immemorial. The concept of Siva and his worship is very ancient and dates back to the Vedic period. “ Let the mind be filled with the concept of Siva always” [“Thanme mana: Siva sankalpamastu” – Yajurveda] is the message of our ancestor Rishies. “Dear India, Don’t forget that lord Siva, the embodiment of self sacrifice (Tyaga Rajan) is your sacred ideal to be followed in this world”- thunders Swami Vivekananda [‘Lectures from Colombo to Almora’ – Sree Ramakrisha Mission, Madras]. Isn’t it surprising that there are thousands of Mahakshethras (Great temples) and Theerthas (sacred places for dipping oneself to alleviate the sins] still in this great country ravaged by barbaric foreign rule for more than thousand years? Most significant fact is that vast majority of these are Saivaites (of Lord Siva) in nature.
In this modern world, where speed is the logo stamped on its face, it is very difficult for an individual by himself to conduct such Yagas, which have to be performed in an atmosphere of tranquility, Vedic perfection and purity. Needless to say that collective effort and effective leadership coupled by the grace of Guru and God alone can make such an attempt successful. This Rudramahayagam is blessed by the presence and blessings of Sadguru Sharavana Babaji. This, coupled with the efficiency and heritage of the Acharyas and dedication of devotees make this Yagam, intended for world peace, prosperity, harmony and kinhood, something distinctly different . All devotees are invited to make this Yagam successful through their presence and service. Let the divine blessings from Satguru and God be bestowed on all
